I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
